To sleep less than 3 hours each night sounds unbearable for the majority of people and to some it might even be regarded as insomnia also known as sleeplessness; a sleep disorder where people have trouble sleeping. Fortunately, less than 1 percent in all the countries have answered that they sleep less than 3 hours.

Instead the majority in all the countries, i.e. Ireland, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark sleep between 6 and 7 hours each night. In Sweden 65 percent thus sleep between 6 and 7 hours and in Finland the figure is 58 percent. The panel members also agree on the second most chosen answer: 8 to 9 hours of sleep. In this regard, however, the Finnish panel members seem to enjoy sleeping longer hours more than the other panel members. In other words, 31 percent of the Finns have answered that they sleep 8 to 9 hours on average in contrast to the other countries where 20 percent have given the same answer.

This point is also proven by the fact that approximately half as many Finns (8 percent) as the other panel members have answered that they sleep between 4-5 hours each night. Only 1 percent in each country (2 in Finland) say that they sleep between 10 and 11 hours each night.

Userneeds hopes that everyone will get a good night's sleep and we are grateful for all the answers!
